Whey vs Pea Protein: Which Do You Choose?
We all know how important protein intake is for good health, fitness and weight loss. Protein provides amino acids that help in muscle repair, boost the immune system and balance blood sugar. And in the world of protein supplements there are two popular choices, whey or pea based, I've tried them both and here some facts on each:
You will find that everyone has a particular preference. Whey Protein has been on the market for a very long time, with Pea Protein making a surge because of the Vegan lifestyle. Personally, I have been drinking Protein Shakes for Years. For me, Pea Protein works: it balances my blood sugar the best and makes managing my weight easier. Every now and then, I switch back to Whey Protein because the variety of flavor is much better: I just get tired of the same ole chocolate vegan shake! However, I do usually end up with indigestion and head back to Pea Protein. The Cons of Pea Protein are true, they can be very grainy and iffy on the taste. I have found, however, that Shakeology has done an outstanding job at blending Pea protein to make it by far The Best I've tried.
Tip: Although I need bananas for additional potassium, adding Bananas or fun things like Peanut Butter can add well over 100 calories to your Protein Shake. Try to find a flavor you can drink with out extra additives: this will help you in your weight loss program.
What about you? Which do you prefer? Are you a Whey Fan? or Vegan Fan? Do you have a Gluten Free Favorite? I'd love to hear!

4 Ways to Take Care of You!
Sometimes we feel guilty about getting our work outs in: you work late, dinner needs to be cooked, laundry needs to be done, and you want valuable family time, too. We rationalize that taking time for us, takes away time from our family and all those things that "need" to be done. However, by not taking care of yourself, you are putting your health at risk, and jeopardizing your ability, long term, to have the energy you need to keep up with a busy family.
