How to Use The Star Wars Half Marathon Races to Obtain Most Wanted Medals of 2016

I spoke directly to runDisney staff to confirm their earlier email to me regarding The Kessel Run Challenge Medal.  
Those of us running both Star Wars Races will not get a Blue Coast to Coast Medal.   We will be getting the Kessel Run Challenge Medal.  
If you want to use one of the Star Wars Races to obtain your Coast to Coast, read how below!

Star Wars Fans and Running Fans from around the galaxy were beyond excited that there will be two runDisney races starting in 2016!

We have:

The Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend - Rebel Challenge Weekend in Disneyland

and

The Star Wars Half Marathon - Dark Side Challenge Weekend in Walt Disney World!

And the Kessel Run Challenge Medal for running them both!

But - wait - what about the Coast to Coast and Castle to Chateau?  How is that going to work?

Well, I was just as confused as all of you, so I contacted runDisney for an explanation.  As usual, they were very helpful!

Here's how to use the Star Wars Half Marathon Series to Obtain All of the Medal Challenges in 2016:

To Obtain the Kessel Run Medal 

This Medal is easy to understand:  Run both Star Wars Half Marathon Series

Medal	Races
The Kessel Run Challenge	Star Wars Half Marathon or Rebel Challenge  - Disneyland   AND  Star Wars Half Marathon or Dark Side Challenge – WDW

To Obtain the Coast to Coast Medal

This is where it starts to get confusing:  You must run 1 Star Wars Half Marathon and 1 other additional Half Marathon.   Your Kessel Run Challenge WILL NOT Qualify for the Coast to Coast!

You have 2 options:

Medal	Race A - Disneyland	Race B – Walt Disney World – Choose 1
The Coast to Coast Challenge – Option1	Star Wars Half Marathon or Rebel Challenge – DL	WDW Half Marathon Princess Half Marathon Wine and Dine Half Marathon

Medal	Race A – Walt Disney World	Race B – Disneyland  –   Choose 1
The Coast to Coast Challenge – Option2	Star Wars Half Marathon or Dark Side Challenge – WDW	Tinkerbell Half Marathon Disneyland Half Marathon Avengers Half Marathon

To Obtain the Castle to Chateau Medal

You can use one of your Star Wars Half Marathons and run the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon. 

Medal	Race A - Disneyland	Race B – Disneyland Paris
The Castle to Chateau Challenge Option1	Star Wars Half Marathon or Rebel Challenge – DL	Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

Medal	Race A – Walt Disney World	Race B – Disneyland  Paris
The Castle to Chateau Challenge Option2	Star Wars Half Marathon or Dark Side Challenge – WDW	Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

Of course, you don't have to run the Star Wars Half Marathon Series to obtain the Coast to Coast or Castle to Chateau and the normal runDisney rules would apply in those cases.

I do plan to aim for all three Medal Challenges!   It should be a busy year!
