And here are the amazing statistics!
The Majority of the Challengers used a FitBit, and interacted through the FitBit Challenge Boards; We had 1 Cell Phone App, 1 Company Pedometer and 4 Jawbones added in the mix.
As a group, we logged over 5.7 million steps!
Cynthia Power started the competition from the beginning with a goal to get up to 10000 steps a day. She exceeded that goal by completing over 18000 - 20000 steps a day by the end of the Month! She is the Most Improved and achieved the Most Weight Lost by losing 10 pounds this month! Other Weight Loss Winners were Jonathan Seal, Kim Prytherch, Shannon Clark, and Sada Lindsey; and I'm sure others lost weight but just didn't count the pounds or inches!
This team of "steppers" are formidable competitors as we all saw each day! Really hard to keep up with some of these folks! But the winner of the Greatest Effort in a Single Event goes to Caleb Solangi by pushing out over 50000 steps in one weekend! He beat his Dad hand over fist!
As our excitement grew and word spread, we picked up some additional team members who literally "stepped" up the game! Kathy Fayard and Missy Jones were able to gain every step they missed and then some, and are our Newbie Go Getters!
Consistency is the game in any fitness quest, and our Kims, Kim Prytherch and Kim Lennard, never stopped walking, moving, or running to steadily beat out steps each day and are our Most Consistent!
We joined this group to be encouraged, and I saw 3 folks that reached out every day to others and "cheered" them on! Their positive attitude far exceeded any steps they took, and I gave Sada Lindsey, Lisa Tilley-Newman, and Colleen Leary Most Positive Steppers!
Probably the most fun we had this month was taking selfies!
We took so many pictures of ourselves! It was really hard to choose! However, I chose the Pass to the Bay 10K as the Best Step Selfie because it really embodied "stepping" up to an achievement for me and for Lee! Lee Carver ran to complete a major accomplishment on her birthday, and I beat my Personal Record by 4 minutes!
But the Most Outrageous Selfie actually goes to 2 of our favorites - Tash Solangi and Kevin Jones!
I honestly had no idea what they were going to do next! And we are all glad that is over!
The Month was a success for all of us! Kevin Jones was the Super Overall Winner!
And even though I called a few people out in the Step Challenge, I do believe that we were ALL winners! Thank You for the effort and the sweat and the tears!January begins a New Year and New Challenges for all of us! I'm looking forward to where we can go from here! Stay tuned for the Next Step Challenge!
