Disney’s Hollywood Studios might just be my favorite park: I do spend quite a bit of time there - especially during Star Wars Weekends (SWW)! Since I am going to be at Hollywood Studios all day, I have grown to love these 3 places for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
1. The Writer’s Stop
The Writer’s Stop is a hidden gem just around the corner from the Sci Fi Dine In Theater and Star Tours; you won’t even find it on the map! It’s my go-to place first thing in the morning for iced coffee and a bagel! They have chocolate milk and variety of muffins for the kids and kids-at heart, too. And it’s not just a coffee shop: you can find and assortment of Disney cookbooks, fiction, non-fiction and kitchen gadgets!

TIPS: Each item here can count as a snack on the dining plan, so plan accordingly.
Also available, are Mickey shaped chocolate chip, sugar and gingerbread cookies all year round: great gifts to bring home!

2. Pizza Planet
This counter service restaurant is our favorite lunch stop during SWW and counts as a quick service meal on the dining plan. The portions are ample, and will easily fill your crew up! My family loves the cheese or veggie pizza, Caesar salad and of course, the Darth Vader Cupcake!

TIPS: This restaurant is busy and tables are hard to find: split up and have at least one person hold onto a table while the rest of you get the food (you will need extra hands with the trays). Keep in mind that you may have to venture upstairs or outside to find a table.
Be sure to have change on hand or dollar bills for the change machine: the arcade downstairs is a lot of fun for the kids!
3. Sci Fi Dine-In Theater

Easy to Find Sci Fi Diner: Located on Commissary Lane

This retro drive-in-themed restaurant is my favorite choice for a sit down meal and to get off my feet. I love dining under the stars in a classic 50’s car booth. The clips of old science fiction movies never cease to entertain my family, and the All-American menu pleases their appetites as well! What do we order? Cheeseburger and a Chocolate Milkshake!

TIPS: We recently came back from Hollywood Studios and were told by Cast Members that the Sci Fi Diner was reservations only: very important to book this restaurant as soon as you have your resort reservations!
If you are on the Dining Plan, choose your milkshake as your dessert and ask to have it delivered with your meal!
Remember, if you are going to the Hyperspace Hoopla, make this an early dinner or plan for dinner at 9pm.
Overall, it's important to plan your day before you arrive: there are optimal times to do all of these dining options, and you want to make sure you get in all the attractions too! You can use any of these stops as a gathering place for your family: if everyone knows when and where to be, you can meet up with ease!
