Which isn't unusual for me, except the difference this year, I took my FitBit with me and kept track of my fitness while I was there.
I was at Walt Disney World for a total of six (6) days; and before I left I set a fitness goal for each day while at Star Wars Weekends:
- 20000 steps
- 10 Miles
- 80 active minutes
- 1200 calorie diet
- No Weight Gain
I based this goal on my first experience with FitBit and the Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
I love my FitBit and can't live without it! Using the FitBit has become effortless: It goes wherever I go. From Princesses to Pizza Planet, I'm keeping track of my fitness throughout the day!
So, here's how my week went...
I was off to a great start on Friday, May 23rd:
I clearly met my goals!
Saturday and Sunday however, found me sick; and I just couldn't keep up with the pace I wanted.
The remaining three days were a lot better with over 16000 and 24000 consecutively!
On the final day at Disney, I lost my FitBit on either the Rock 'n Rollercoaster or the Tower of Terror. The last time I checked my FitBit, I had recorded approximately 9000 steps. Fortunately, someone turned it in to Lost and Found at Guest Services of Hollywood Studios! I was very, very happy!
The walk back to the bus and my resort room gained me an extra 2800 steps for the final day.
So, Overall, how did my week go?
Averages were
- 17147 steps
- 7 miles
- 79.5 active minutes
- 1200 calorie diet
- .1 pounds lost
My numbers were not what I wanted them to be, but I still was able to stay very active and not gain any weight! If I hadn't gotten sick, I would have really rocked my numbers! Every day was a conscious effort to make sure that I took the stairs and not the elevator and to record what I ate with MyFitnessPal. Don't get my wrong, I ate really well! The Feel The Force package for the parade and fireworks had awesome desserts; and I didn't skimp on my Star Wars Character Breakfast or Dinner!
I also learned a scarey lesson this past week in that the FitBit closure on the band is not always secure (just like the Magic Bands at Disney). For future protection of my FitBit, I will be putting a rubber band around the closure!
All-in-all, it was a successful fitness week: my FitBit kept me accountable on my fitness vacation!
